Sonel PVM-1020 KIT
PV Meter - Exceptional Capabilities in a Compact Design
1. PVM-1020 Photovoltaic Meter
The Sonel PVM-1020 is one of the world’s smallest photovoltaic system meters with an extensive range of measurement functions. All functions are easily selected using a rotary switch, while additional settings can be adjusted with conveniently placed buttons. The backlit display and buttons enhance usability, especially in shaded environments such as ground-mounted PV systems. The device’s large memory significantly streamlines post-measurement documentation.

PVM-1020 | Durability & Protection
Designed for tough environmental conditions, the PVM-1020 is housed in a rugged IP65-rated enclosure, ensuring protection against dust and water—a crucial feature for outdoor PV installations.
PVM-1020 | Communication & Software
Measurement data can be wirelessly transferred to a computer via Bluetooth. The Sonel Reader software allows easy data saving, export to various formats, and report printing. For electrical shock protection reports, the optional Sonel Reports PLUS software is available.
PVM-1020 | Trouble? reSYNC!
If the PVM-1020 temporarily loses connection with the IRM-1, measurements can continue uninterrupted. Once communication is restored, the reSYNC function will automatically update results with the missing environmental parameters recorded by the IRM-1, ensuring all data is converted into STC conditions.
2. IRM-1 Solar Radiation & Temperature Meter
Despite its compact size, the IRM-1 is an essential tool for PV system testing. It measures solar radiation levels, panel temperatures, and ambient temperatures, providing crucial data for STC condition adjustments.
IRM-1 | Key Features
- Measures solar radiation and temperature for precise PV analysis.
- LoRa interface ensures long-range communication with the master meter.
- Automatic data synchronization via the reSYNC function.
- Built-in compass and inclination sensor for precise panel orientation.
- Data recorder for pre-installation site analysis and shading diagnostics.
- Extensive storage: 999 cache memory cells and 5000 recorded measurements (overwriting available for continuous recording).
IRM-1 | Measured Parameters
- Solar radiation intensity (irradiance) – displayed in W/m² or BTU/ft²/h.
- PV panel temperature – measured in °C or °F.
- Ambient temperature – measured in °C or °F.
- Panel inclination angle.
- Panel orientation – determined using a built-in compass.
IRM-1 | Durability & Protection
Like the PVM-1020, the IRM-1 features a robust IP65-rated enclosure, ensuring dust and water resistance—essential for outdoor PV system testing.
IRM-1 | Communication & Software
Data from the IRM-1 can be transferred via USB to a computer. Additionally, its built-in LoRa wireless interfaceenables automatic long-distance data exchange with the master meter.
